Goal of the event:
The goal of this event was not only to learn greek sign language but also to promote mobility and raise awareness about the life,the culture and the language of deaf people !
Short description of the event:
Our special week , the ExchangeAbility Week begun on Tuesday 21/3 with our Visit to K.E.L.N.O, the Sign Language Center.
We were 12 people!First, we had a presentation about K.E.L.N.O and the local community of deaf people! We learn the don's and the do's, we learn about their culture and their relationship with the community! After that they teached us important and basic words and phrases from the greek sign language. We had small conversation with signs just to repeat what we learned during the event! An the end the esn team and the erasmus students we had a bigger coversation about the ExchangeAbility Project, about the event and its goal!
How did your event go?:
The event went great! First, we had a little presentation about K.E.L.N.O and the community of deaf people ! The students were really surprised about their life and their culture and even more with their language! Deaf people teached us some signs and we had fun because finally we could communicate!
